Aclasta IV

Aclasta is a medicine for the treatment of patients with Osteoporosis who are at increased risk of fracture. It belongs to a group of medicines called bisphosphonates.

Aclasta is indicated for the treatment of:

  • Post Menopausal Osteoporosis
  • Post Low Trauma Hip Fracture to reduce incidence of new fractures
  • Male Osteoporosis
  • Glucocorticoid-induced Osteoporosis
  • Pagets Disease of Bone  

 

Aclasta works by attaching to bone and protecting it from further breakdown.

Aclasta is given as an intravenous drip. it is administered by the doctor. The infusion will take no less than 15 minutes, if you have questions with regards to the infusion, please ask your doctor.

For the treatment of Osteoporosis Aclasta is given as an infusion once a year.
